Nevin Dulabaum, President, Church of the Brethren Benefit Trust
Nevin is a sixth generation Church of the Brethren member. He is the son of a Brethren pastor and a Mennonite school teacher. While he never felt called into the pastoral ministry, he joined the national Church of the Brethren staff after serving as a newspaper reporter covering government. In 1994 he was named the denomination's news director. In 1999 he joined Church of the Brethren Benefit Trust. For eight plus years he served as director of Communications and IT. In September 2008, he was named president just as the S&P 500 was falling 400 points in one month. Talk about market timing! During his tenure as president, BBT has undergone comprehensive changes in its products and customer service to address changing demands of the marketplace. The pandemic is yet another major crossroad for BBT, which the organization is addressing. Nevin lives outside of Chicago in Elgin, Ill.; his wife, Mary, serves as communications director at Judson University. They have three adult daughters, two who are still in college.
